                                          "CAN ATTITUDE"

Do you have a “Can” or a “Can’t Attitude?

Reprinted from the Summer 1998 Eastern Star Journal

CAN

    CAN’T

·     We have the opportunity to be first.

·     We’ve never done it before.

·     Let’s look at it from a different angle.

·     It’s too complicated.

·     Necessity is the mother of invention.

·     We don’t have the resources.

·     We’ll give it a try.

·     It will never work.

·     We’ll re-evaluate some priorities.

·     There’s not enough time.

·     We learned from the experience.

·     We already tried it.

·     We can make it work.

·     There is no way it will work.

·     Think of the possibilities.

·     It’s a waste of time.

·     The investment will be worth it.

·     We don’t have the expertise.

·     Let’s network with those who do it.

·     Our members won’t go for it.

·     There’s always room for improvement.

·     It’s good enough.

·     Maybe there is something we can cut.

·     We don’t have enough money.

·     We’re a lean machine.

·     We’re understaffed.

·     Temporary space may be an option.

·     We don’t have enough room.

·     Maybe we can sub it out.

·     We don’t have the equipment.

·     We’ll try one more time.

·     It’s not going to be any better.

·     It will be a challenge.

·     It can’t be done.

·     Let’s open the channels.

·     No one communicates.

·     Days go by quickly around here.

·     Isn’t it time to go home?

·     I’ll come up with some alternatives.

·     I don’t have any idea.

·     I’m ready to learn something new.

·     Let someone else deal with it.

·     We’re in touch with our members.

·     We’re always changing direction.

·     Let’s take a chance.

·     It’s too radical a change.

·     We’ll do better at educating them.

·     It takes too long for approval.

·     Let’s show them the opportunities.

·     Our Chapter won’t buy it.

·     We’re perfect for this project.

·     It doesn’t fit us.

·     We should look at it.

·     It’s contrary to policy.

·     Anything’s possible.

·     It’s not my job.

I CAN!

I CAN’T!
