                                          "CAN ATTITUDE"

Do you have a ďCanĒ or a ďCanít Attitude?

Reprinted from the Summer 1998 Eastern Star Journal

CAN

    CANíT

We have the opportunity to be first.

     Weíve never done it before.

Letís look at it from a different angle.

     Itís too complicated.

Necessity is the mother of invention.

     We donít have the resources.

     Weíll give it a try.

     It will never work.

     Weíll re-evaluate some priorities.

     Thereís not enough time.

     We learned from the experience.

     We already tried it.

     We can make it work.

There is no way it will work.

     Think of the possibilities.

     Itís a waste of time.

The investment will be worth it.

     We donít have the expertise.

Letís network with those who do it.

Our members wonít go for it.

     Thereís always room for improvement.

     Itís good enough.

Maybe there is something we can cut.

     We donít have enough money.

     Weíre a lean machine.

     Weíre understaffed.

Temporary space may be an option.

     We donít have enough room.

Maybe we can sub it out.

     We donít have the equipment.

     Weíll try one more time.

Itís not going to be any better.

     It will be a challenge.

     It canít be done.

     Letís open the channels.

     No one communicates.

Days go by quickly around here.

Isnít it time to go home?

Iíll come up with some alternatives.

     I donít have any idea.

Iím ready to learn something new.

Let someone else deal with it.

Weíre in touch with our members.

     Weíre always changing direction.

     Letís take a chance.

     Itís too radical a change.

Weíll do better at educating them.

It takes too long for approval.

     Letís show them the opportunities.

     Our Chapter wonít buy it.

     Weíre perfect for this project.

     It doesnít fit us.

     We should look at it.

     Itís contrary to policy.

     Anythingís possible.

     Itís not my job.

I CAN!

I CANíT!
